Butterfly Courtyard House

Butterfly Courtyard House gets its name from the shape of the unique roof that slopes towards the beautiful centrally located garden. This 2,600 square foot, 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house is located in a suburban neighborhood and is organized into two wings; one is where the private office and open common spaces are located while the other has all of the bedrooms and full bathrooms. The central courtyard creates a calm atmosphere within the house, which is amplified when all the sliding glass doors are open and a natural breeze can enter from the exterior, through the spaces, and out of the courtyard where it blows against the leaves of the trees.

This house is set back from the main road between various types of trees. There’s a driveway and garage with two pathways that lead to the front entrance. As soon as we enter Butterfly Courtyard House, there’s a beautiful view of the central courtyard. To the right, there’s a hallway with sliding glass doors along the garden that can be opened to let in fresh air.

The right wing of the house is where all of the bedrooms are located. Two of them have a private bathroom and the two bedrooms at the center shared a common bathroom. They each have space for a king size bed, closet, and built-in entertainment center. There are also casement windows in every room that can be opened for fresh air.

If we follow the hallway to the left wing of the house, there’s a living room at the far end of the house. It has a large sectional sofa facing a TV and display cabinet. Each of the rooms on this wing of the house has a sliding glass door that leads out to a shared balcony.

Next to the living room is the dining area that’s at the center of this open common space. It has a long table where 6 people can sit together and share a meal. There’s also a kitchen with a large center island that makes it easy to prepare and cook meals as a family. On the opposite side of the kitchen wall is a private office where we can go to catch up on work.
